Indigo | A Farm-Based Make and Take for Adult Learners

Saturday, January 27, 2024

1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Embrace those winter blues and join us for a community workshop on dyeing with naturally grown indigo.

Through an exploration of the complex history of indigo as an agricultural product and sought-after source of blue dye along with our own indigo pigment grown here at WFCF, participants will immerse themselves in the world of blue and go home with their own dyed wearables--two cotton squares, and a wool/silk scarf.

We will explore how indigo is grown and harvested, how to build and maintain a vat from organic indigo powder, and techniques for creating resist designs on fabric.  Seed sharing available for interested participants.

All materials provided.

Join our community of plant-based dye enthusiasts and grow together with us in this new year!

* This hands-on workshop is geared towards adult learning.
