Community Shared Agriculture

The CSA model was designed to provide farms with income at the beginning of the growing season when expenses are highest and income is low, allowing some stability in an otherwise highly seasonal industry. Payment for a CSA is provided up front for a "share" of the harvest that will be distributed in installments throughout the growing season. At Waltham Fields, all shares are picked up at the farm, giving shareholders a strong connection to the land, our farm staff, and fellow community members.

Food For All

We are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of half-priced CSA Shares each season to participants who self-identify as meeting the current USDA SNAP eligibility guidelines, which can be purchased with cash or SNAP. These shares are largely subsidized by other CSA shareholders who generously pay above the price of their own share by making a Food For All contribution. This tax-deductible donation is a simple, yet highly impactful way to support our community members and

WFCF's mission of Local Food For All.

Consider making a Food For All contribution when purchasing your CSA. If 100 individuals or families make a

Food For All contribution each season, all of our subsidized shares will be fully community funded!

Purchasing a subsidized CSA Share with SNAP

SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formely known as food stamps. Through the Department of Transitional Assistance's (DTA) SNAP CSA Pilot, you can pay for a half-priced CSA share with your SNAP benefits, on a monthly basis. This program enables payments to WFCF to be withdrawn by DTA from your SNAP account automatically each month, the day your receive your benefits. WFCF is a HIP vendor, so you will also receive $40-$60 in SNAP dollars immediately back on your card through this monthly transaction.  Please contact us for assistance with payment.
